Heavenly, Lake Tahoe, California

The Champaign, Illinois Ski Club arranged a ski trip to Heavenly ski resort in Lake Tahoe. I wasn't about to pass up this trip because I live in Sunnyvale, which is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Heavenly.

Heavenly is an incredibly large ski resort. It has 4,800 skiable acres spanning two states, a 3,500 foot vertical drop and a total of 82 ski runs.

The big group picture from Vikingsholm
This is a picture of our group, about 38 of us. Our bus driver took this picture over looking Vikingsholm, a landmark in Emerald Bay on the southwest part of Lake Tahoe.

California side of Heavenly
These are pictures that were taken from the California side of Heavenly. The terrain is a slightly less varied, and has more bowl skiing.

Nevada side of Heavenly
These are pictures that were taken from the Nevada side of Heavenly. The terrain consists mostly of long, intermediate cruising ski runs that are a lot of fun to ski.

Alpine Meadows ski resort
Heavenly wasn't the only ski resort we visited. We also went to Kirkwood, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows as well. These are my pictures from Alpine Meadows.
