Alpine Meadows ski resort

Alpine Meadows ski resort is located on the northwest side of Lake Tahoe. It's located next to Squaw Valley. The terrain was overall much steeper than heavenly, and it was very close to the skiing at Engelberg, Switzerland. I found it to be very challenging, and I really enjoyed it. The resort has very nice bowl skiing.

This is a picture looking up the Blue Trail ski run. The ski lift you see on the right is the Summit Six, which takes you to the top of Ward Peak, at 8,637 feet.

This is part of the Rock Garden ski run, which starts at the top of Ward Peak.

If you take the Summit Six ski lift to the top, you get a nice view of Lake Tahoe and part of the ski runs on Scott Peak (8,289 feet), which is the best part of the resort.

This is the view looking west from the summit. There are a lot of black diamond trails that start here. We took the Wolverine Bowl ski run down to the Green Trail, and intermediate.

This is the top portion of the Rock Garden ski run, looking back toward the summit. There's a nice steep bowl on the right.

The Scott Peak bowl area

Scott Peak is part of Alpine Meadows. It's part of the "Back Bowl" region of the ski resort and provides some very nice bowl skiing. The best part was that it wasn't crowded.

To reach the top, you take the Scott Chair ski lift and take the Leisure Lane ski run. This is the view of Lake Tahoe that you get.

A large group of us went on the ski runs, and had this picture taken of us.

These are a couple pictures looking toward Ward Peak from the back bowl area.

On our bus ride back, we stopped at Vikingsholm, a local landmark situated on a small island in the middle of Emerald Bay. It's located in the southwest corner of Lake Tahoe.
