Castle Rock State Park - Page 2

These are pictures on my hike through Castle Rock State Park, from the Ridge Trail back to the main entrance.

This is at approximately the halfway point along the loop that takes you on the Saratoga Gap and RIdge Trails. I was going in a clockwise direction.

The Ridge Trail starts going uphill with a moderately easy slope, through a forest. You will eventually reach a flat point (rightmost picture below) with a good location for bird watching.

Once you continue on the trail heading east, you will reach Goat Rock. The trail you see in the leftmost picture is for another viewing area, giving some nice views of the Santa Cruz mountains.

This is a view of Goat Rock, which is very popular for rock climbers. I caught one going down this day.

On the way back to the main entrance, I went over to Castle Rock, which is another popular place for rock climbing. The rocks have some very interesting rock formations.
